Bronx Line Watch is a free, non-commercial subway alert service. We collect as little as possible and use it only to send you alerts.
What we collect
- Your mobile phone number.
- Your language preference (English or Spanish).
- The keyword replies you send us (such as BRONX, ESPANOL, HELP, STOP) and basic delivery records kept by our text message provider.
We do not collect your name, location, or any other personal information. This website does not use cookies or tracking.
Telegram
If you follow our Telegram channels instead of signing up by text, we don't collect or store anything about you. Following a channel is handled entirely by Telegram under Telegram's privacy policy.
How we use it
Only to send you the subway alerts you signed up for, in your chosen language, and to honor HELP and STOP requests.
What we never do
- We never sell, rent, or share your phone number with anyone for marketing or any other purpose.
- No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
- We never send advertising.
Service providers
We rely on a few providers to run the service. They process data only as needed to provide it:
- Telegram delivers alerts to people who follow our channels.
- Twilio sends and receives the text messages, and so handles your phone number and message history.
- Render hosts the software that sends alerts, including the subscriber list.
- Anthropic provides the AI model that rewrites public MTA alerts. It receives only the public alert text, never your phone number.
Retention and deletion
Reply STOP and we stop messaging you immediately and remove your number from our subscriber list. Our text message provider may keep delivery records for a limited time as required for its own legal and anti-spam obligations.
Security
The subscriber list is stored on access-restricted hosting and is never published. Phone numbers are not written in full to our logs.
Children
The service is not directed to children under 13.
Changes and contact
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above. Questions? Reply HELP to any message, or open an issue on our GitHub page.
